MLD was pioneered in the 1930s in France by Doctors, Emil and Estrid Vodder, and today is acknowledged as a primary tool in swelling and lymphedema management. The Vodder School is the global leader in the clinical application and teaching of manual lymphatic and combined decongestive therapy.
Dr. Vodder Certified MLD and CDT practitioners must complete comprehensive training (covering lymphatic anatomy, physiology, pathology and clinical assessment skills) under the direction of medical doctors. Bi-annual re-certification is a requirement of continued certification.
